Wild, Fiala appear to be in holding patternSeptember 10, 2019 | 10:08 AM
It sounds like the Minnesota Wild are in a holding pattern with RFA Kevin Fiala.
"We've made him a fair offer and he's deciding," Wild GM Bill Guerin said. Naturally, the Wild are hoping to get Fiala signed before training camp. As Guerin went on to mention, missing training camp can have a negative impact on a player's performance. It's worth noting that because Fiala would need to get a work visa after signing, he will probably miss the start of the Wild's camp even if he were to sign today, but there's of course a difference between missing a couple days and a significant chunk of the preseason. The Wild are far from the only team in this situation though. There are still 19 remaining RFAs as we approach training camp.
